About the Role


As the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, you will play an integral role in NinjaOne’s maturation, specifically in IPO readiness, SEC reporting, financial advisory and technical accounting. This person will have proven technical accounting and financial reporting skills to deliver results and enjoys building processes from the ground up


You will be the subject-matter expert in ASC 606 with a passion for revenue recognition and process improvements while maintaining financial reporting excellence. This role requires a highly energetic, collaborative individual who is a problem solver and strategic thinker. You will coordinate and prepare filing of external reports mandated by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, perform technical accounting projects, analysis, and research, and serve as coordinator for the internal and external auditors.


Location – Remote but must be in one of the following states TX, FL, GA, NC, ME or CA We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL 


What You’ll be Doing


  • Lead the technical accounting function, directing our IPO readiness efforts.

  • Stay current with new accounting standards/guidance and manage adoption/transition as applicable.

  • Prepare technical accounting memos for significant transactions and/or new accounting standards/requirements.

  • Manage documentation of procedures / processes / controls / internal control structure

  • Own relevant portions of the Company’s SOX framework. Coordinate annual updates, deliverables and satisfy all requests with external and internal testers.

  • Work closely with Corporate Controller to ensure the timely, accurate completion of all requests in support of the annual audit (financial and internal controls focused). 

  • Liaise directly with internal and external auditors to satisfy test requests.

  • Manage the stock compensation accounting function, including review of assumptions for routine and performance-based awards, determining grant date fair values and maintenance of the Company’s capitalization table.

  • Prepare journal entries and approve journal entries.

  • Lead/participate in special projects as needed.

  • Manage the month-end and quarter-end revenue close process activities, including review of journal entries, review of account reconciliations and analyses

  • Ensure SOX compliance of Revenue Cycle


About You


  • 5+ years relevant professional experience; strong preference in SaaS

  • Big 4 experience preferred

  • IPO Readiness experience required

  • CPA Required 

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX

  • Experience with Netsuite a plus

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational & project management skills

  • Polished written and verbal communication skills

  • Builds relationships with managers (up through SVP-level) to effectively coordinate and complete tasks in assigned area of responsibility
